About Us

I’m Melissa, the owner of Designs by MJ. I’m also a mom to two boys, Vincent and Luke, and the hands behind every product you see here. After my first son was born, I made the decision to leave my job at a doctor’s office so I could be home with him. Three years later, I found myself searching for something that allowed me to stay present with my kids while still building something meaningful of my own.

That search is what led me to create this business. I wanted to design everyday items that offer encouragement, positivity, and small reminders women actually need in the middle of real life. Cozy and meaningful MAMA sweatshirts that celebrate the everyday joys and challenges of motherhood. Between busy routines, long days, and everything we juggle, I’ve learned that a simple message or a small moment of comfort can make a big difference.

Today, I make each piece myself from drinkware with daily affirmations to soft, easygoing t-shirts and sweatshirts. My hope is that every item you bring into your home brightens your routine, eases stress, or brings a little joy into your day.
